Kirsten focuses her practice on civil litigation, employment law, and education law.  Her litigation practice includes representing clients in administrative, trial court, and appellate proceedings in a variety of cases including tort litigation, insurance defense, business and contract disputes, and employment matters.  She also provides clients legal advice on matters outside of litigation.

Kirsten represents school districts across the state with a focus on employment matters and researching and providing advice on the complex and novel issues school districts encounter on a day-to-day basis.  She also represents employers in administrative proceedings and litigation and provides advice on employment-related issues.

Kirsten believes listening to and collaborating with her clients is a key to providing valuable legal services.  She works with clients to understand the issues, understand the client’s goals, and develop strategies for resolving the issues while meeting client goals.

Before joining the firm, Kirsten served as a law clerk to the Honorable Daniel J. Crothers of the North Dakota Supreme Court and the Honorable Charles S. Miller, Jr., of the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota.  During her clerkships, Kirsten sharpened her writing and research skills and gained first-hand knowledge of the operations of North Dakota’s state and federal courts.

Kirsten grew up in Mandan.  She graduated with high honors from the University of Montana School of Law and was an editor for the Public Land & Resources Law Review.  Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, their adventurous young daughter, and their two dogs.
